Instant Focus: Revolutionary Optical Technology
Instant Focus is a unique, patented optical technology designed to replicate the accommodative function of the natural lens. This innovative approach extends the depth of focus while maintaining consistent resolution and peak light intensity.
The technology achieves this through a concept known as Pseudo-Nondiffracting Beam (PNDB). Unlike a diffracting beam, which starts diverging from the focal point, a PNDB begins to diverge only after traveling some distance. In the case of Lucidis, the PNDB is meticulously calculated to provide seamless visual accommodation from near to intermediate vision, extending continuously towards distance vision.
This peak of light intensity is achieved through constructive interference of light waves, a process facilitated by the aspheric surface at the center of the lens. This design ensures that patients experience enhanced visual clarity and comfort across a wide range of distances.

Eden incorporates the EDOF technology, Instant Focus, within its aspheric optical center, which is surrounded by a refractive-diffractive outer surface.
